Burkina Faso has three main mobile phone networks: Airtel Burkina, MTN Burkina, and Orange Burkina. These networks offer both 2G and 3G services, with 4G being rolled out in certain areas. There are also smaller local operators in the country. Mobile broadband services are available from the main networks, with coverage being widespread in urban areas but patchy in rural areas. Pre-paid SIM cards can be purchased for around XOF 1,000 – 3,000 ($2 – $6), while post-paid plans are available from XOF 5,000 ($10) per month.
