MTN is a company that provides mobile phone services in Afghanistan. It is the country’s biggest mobile operator and the most widely used. It has more than 20 million customers and serves about one-third of all Afghans with 4G coverage. MTN was founded in 1995 as Mobitel but rebranded itself as MTN in 2012. The company also operates voice-over-internet services for landline users, fixed-line internet connections, and fixed-line broadband services. MTN Afghanistan, part of the MTN Group, is a leading provider of mobile services in Afghanistan. It serves about 60% of the population and offers a wide range of services including voice calls, text messages, and mobile internet to all customers with postpaid contracts.
